Cool repurposed tool! LOVE dollar stores too!
I bought this from the dollar store and I have no idea what its intended purpose is. I have used it for so many different things in my classroom. Here we are using it to understand how to create diagrams when writing nonfiction informative books. We have also used it to hang self portraits and fictional characters. Check out your local dollar store teachers! :-)

At the end of the school year it can be tough to keep kids attention. The Dinosaur is a perfect topic to hinge around as you work through the end of the year. Doing an archaeological dig in a pail or behind the school is a lot of fun. You can do dino math or other things as well. Here are some ideas.

The idea of a “thinking walk” is a neat one. In this one, students walk and reflectoin how we used plants. They record their thinking walk through photographs or recording audio. Thinking walks would be fascinating things to do at the end of the school year.
I often think while I walk too. This idea of focusing on one aspect of the walk is a great one.

Interesting idea here to use a Haiku starter website and then animate the Haiku on Animoto. Love this idea.

Cute spanish videos, handouts, and lesson plans for the elementary classroom. This would be something great to pull in if you’re struggling or your Spanish teacher is out. (via Teaching Resources, Classroom Resources & Lesson Plans - TES Resources)

The Mystery Skype Caller is a concept where students are skyping with a mystery caller and must collaboratively problem solve to determine the person’s location. This is from Mrs. Yollis’ Classroom blog and their experiences. This is a great concept which also uses Alan November’s concept of the “Digital Learning Farm” (we call it the jigsaw in some deployments of the concept.) Great idea for elementary teachers.

Popplet is a website that I’m seeing elementary teachers use - it also has an ipad app - very simple to use. (via Popplet | Collect, curate and share your ideas, inspirations, and projects!)

Science booklets with experiments for young children. Each one involves the senses. Elementary teachers will want this.

Congratulations to Linda Yollis and her third grade students. If you’re a teacher considering blogging, she’s one to emulate.
